A missing document. A blown deadline. A struggling student who goes unnoticed until it's too late. These are the moments that quietly cost universities enrollment and retention.
It's why more colleges and universities are turning to agentic AI: to close those gaps and free up staff time for the conversations that need a person.
American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) is one of them. The university went from first conversation to signed contract in 45 days, then had its first agent, handling student chat and WhatsApp conversations, live in weeks rather than a semester. It's a crawl, walk, run rollout: an outreach agent for missing documents and deadlines, and an early-warning agent for struggling students, are next.
In this fireside chat, Sheikh Sadiq, chief operating officer at Manipal Education Americas, shares what that rollout actually took.
