Career readiness is increasingly central to how students—and society—judge college ROI, but the pathways from classroom learning to workforce success are only becoming more complex. In response, institutions have done much to push career readiness efforts beyond the career center proper. But many still struggle to build buy-in from faculty as partners in this dimension of student success. And even where faculty are buying in, they may lack the expertise to truly help students prepare for careers across sectors. Adding to the complexity, AI is rapidly transforming workplace expectations, with employers seeking new combinations of technical and human skills.
This webcast discussion will draw on data, case studies and expert insights to explore how institutions can promote and support faculty engagement in career preparation; what today’s students need most; and how colleges can create stronger connections between academic learning and postgraduate outcomes.
